Dancer

Chelsea Allard, who joined NDC in 2010, is a native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where she started her dance career at an early age studying under Mihailo Djuric, Susan Duffy, and later Christine Simes. Throughout her training, she performed a variety of lead roles including Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Kitri in Don Quixote, and Medora in the pas de deux from Le Corsaire. As a teenager, she spent three summers studying at Boston Ballet's Summer Dance Program. Allard went on to study ballet at the University of Utah, where she received a BFA in Ballet, emphasis in Teaching, Performing, and Character Dance. While studying at the University of Utah, Allard choreographed and performed in numerous productions and was featured as a soloist in ballets and original works. She studied under Conrad Ludlow, Sharee Lane, and Richard Wacko. As a member of the Character Dance Ensemble, and later as its Ballet Mistress, Allard traveled and performed in Corvallis, Oregon; London, England; Vancouver, British Columbia; and New York City. Most recently, Allard has been teaching children of all ages in studios both in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
